ACC, the country's largest cement maker, is planning to set up a wind power project in Rajasthan, the second one this year. According to analysts, the investment for the project, which has an estimated capacity of about 11 mw, is expected to be around Rs 60 crore. The project will support the cement company's Lakheri plant in Bundi district of the state, which had undergone modernisation with its capacity augmented to 1.5 million tonnes from 0.9 million tonnes. The Rajasthan wind power project is a part of the company's efforts to adopt environment-friendly technologies and reduce dependence on conventional energy.
