New 150 MVA transformer may end Jammu's power woes
Power situation in three districts here is expected to improve with the installation of a new 150 MVA transformer and commissioning of two damaged units, officials said. Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts have been facing acute power shortage for a couple of months now, after two transformers at the Gladni Grid Station got damaged. Simultaneously, the authorities discussed the matter with different Central organisations for repair of the units and also installation of a new transformer. The two repaired units of 133.33 MVA each would be dispatched to Jammu soon, officials said. With the arrival and commissioning of both these units, the 400 MVA capacity of the Gladni Grid Station would go up to 550 MVA.
