The 52nd Hydro Product Committee meeting was held today at IPX Conference Hall. MK Dube GM (Hydro) Chairman of Hydro Product Committee while inaugurating the session stressed on order booking to reach enhanced capacity of 2500 MW. He said that the increased capacity could be reached by booking hydro sets of range 100 MW and above. That is the only way the share of Hydro power generation would go up in coming years. In addition BHEL has planned to take up manufacture of Hydro set of 250MW and higher sets to meet the growing requirement of the nation. The shorter manufacturing time is to be achieved b' coordinated efforts of one and all to meet this challenge. During 11th plan and 12th plan power generation capacity of 16,000 MW and 30,000 MW respectively will be added in our country. There is lot of opportunity in our neighbouring Bhutan also as to the tune of about 1DOOO MW by 2020. For overcoming the challenges he laid emphasis on adopting measures like design to cost. Dube stressed on team working and for creating seamless supply chain across divisions The 52nd Hydro Committee was attended by delegates from Power sector, Hydro Marketing /International Operations, Spares Business, and from Hardwar, R&D Hyde-abad, Electronics Division, and Jhansi Units also participated.R Krishnan General Manager (EM) and Co-chairman in his concluding address remarks called for cost reduction, keeping quality and customer commitment. RX Bhasin General Manager (FBM), and U Chatterji General Manager (Quality) also participated in the deliberations. Arun Manglik Additional General Manager/HSS welcomed the delegates and JP Pathak Additional General Manager/HSS proposed the vote of thanks.
